A 40 yard dumpster rental is for commercial construction, warehouse clearance and estate cleanouts where volume rather than weight is the constraint.

Concrete, dirt, brick and shingles reach the tonnage limit long before they fill the container, so a 10 yard with 3 tons included is usually the right and cheaper choice for heavy material. For bulky but light debris such as furniture, drywall and timber, size on volume instead.

Paint, oil, fuel, solvents, batteries, asbestos, medical waste, tyres and appliance refrigerants cannot go in any container, because Michigan landfill regulations prohibit them rather than because we do. Mattresses, tyres and appliances are usually accepted for a per-item fee if you declare them when booking.
