So far, excellent service. Along with straightforward website, I can see why Blue Sky has many positive reviews. If you are booking via website, the latest the same day goes is 3pm, to my understanding, I accidentally booked my drop off for same day after 3pm and the person was very generous and let me know it was scheduled for the next day and that I can extend the pick up date for up to two weeks from the new(!) pickup date without charge. This was changed with ease, a two and a half minute call, and confirmed within seconds of disconnecting the call. On the top of my list if I need a dumpster rental. EDIT: Two weeks after, and I can say the dumpster was perfect. They picked up my dumpster relatively early for us with no hassle. Recommend for anybody who wants a fast and easy dumpster rental.

I have been using Blue Sky for many years and I have never been disappointed. From the initial phone order, drop off and pick up they have been the best. I've had some unusual requests when they drop off and everyone involved have been absolutely amazing. I highly recommend Blue Sky. They also have the best price.

Size and weight

Project tools and why weight matters

Volume is not the whole story. Material weight can determine the right dumpster before empty space does. Use a project tool for a specific job type, then get live pricing after your Vicksburg delivery address, ZIP, and county.

Light + bulky

Furniture, wood, and household cleanouts

Estate and whole-home cleanouts often need taller capacity even when the load stays relatively light. The calculator weighs volume and mix together.

Heavy + dense

Concrete, brick, dirt, and asphalt

Dense material can hit weight limits long before a large box looks full. Heavy projects follow the same production rules as the homepage calculator — including roll-off constraints when required.

Placement and delivery

Delivery, loading, and property protection

Prepare the site, protect the placement surface, and load level with the top. These are Blue Sky delivery and loading rules for Vicksburg — not a substitute for city permits or HOA approval, and not a damage guarantee.

Protect your driveway and property

Heavy open-top roll-off on a lawn showing compressed grass at the steel contact points

Lawn and soft ground

Heavy roll-off dumpsters can compress soil, create ruts, or damage grass, particularly when loaded or during delivery and pickup. Discuss grass or other soft-ground placement with Blue Sky before delivery.

Open-top roll-off on a hard driveway with plywood under the steel contact points

Boards and surface protection

Concerned about your driveway or placement surface? Ask Blue Sky about appropriate placement and surface-protection options before delivery.

Rubber-wheeled dumpster trailer on a clean residential asphalt driveway, tires contacting the pavement

Driveway-friendly rubber-wheeled dumpsters

Rubber tires reduce direct steel-container contact with the driveway. Placement still depends on the driveway, site conditions, material weight, and how the container is delivered and retrieved.

Compare Rubber-Wheeled Dumpster Sizes

Prepare for delivery

Leave room for the truck

Leave enough room for the truck to deliver and pick up the dumpster safely.

Keep the area clear

Move vehicles, trailers, and other obstructions. Watch for low-hanging branches, wires, and other overhead obstacles.

Permits

You are responsible for any required permits or approvals for placement on a public street or right-of-way.

Placement instructions

Give accurate placement instructions when you book, and make sure that spot is accessible on delivery and pickup day.

Included weight vs overweight

Material type determines which dumpster is eligible. Each rental includes a weight allowance shown in your quote. If actual weight goes above that allowance, additional weight is billed at the overage rate shown in your quote.

Load level requirement

Keep all debris level with the top of the dumpster. Nothing may extend above the top or hang over the sides. Overfilled dumpsters may need material removed before pickup and can delay service.

CORRECT

Debris level with or below the container top

NOT ACCEPTABLE

Debris extending above or over the sides

Vicksburg Dumpster Placement & Permit Requirements

The Village of Vicksburg is separate from Brady and Schoolcraft townships, so village properties follow village rules. A dumpster rental kept entirely on private property generally does not require a permit. Building, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing permits are issued through the Village and processed by South Central Michigan Construction Code Inspections (SCMCCI). Chapter 389 requires residential garbage haulers to be licensed but excludes roll-off containers from its refuse-bin standards. For public right-of-way placement or ordinance questions, call the Village Office at (269) 649-1919.

Dumpster Rental FAQs

Dumpster rental prices depend on dumpster size, debris type, and how long you keep the container. A small dumpster rental for a light cleanout costs less than a 30-yard or 40-yard container for a full renovation, and the quote you get up front is the price you pay.

Not for placement on private property. If a container needs to sit in a street or public right-of-way inside the village, call the Village Office at (269) 649-1919 first, and note that building and trade permits are handled through SCMCCI on the Village's behalf.

Yes. Same-day delivery to Vicksburg is often available depending on inventory and scheduling, so call early in the day for the best shot at today's route.

We offer 10-yard, 20-yard, 30-yard, and 40-yard roll-off dumpster rental sizes, covering everything from a small basement cleanout to a full construction dumpster rental.

Yes. Our construction dumpster rental options handle renovation debris, demolition material, and general job site waste, sized to match the scope of your build.

Most self-hauled waste from Vicksburg goes to the Miller Road Transfer Station in Kalamazoo, operated by Best Way Disposal. The Comstock Township Transfer Station is the county’s other facility, but it requires a Comstock Township resident ID card and is not available to Vicksburg residents. Household hazardous waste, including paint and solvents, and electronics should be taken to the county’s HHW Center on Lamont Avenue.

Chapter 389 of the Vicksburg village code requires a hauler license for businesses collecting residential garbage within the village. The rule applies to regular curbside trash service, while the chapter’s refuse-bin standards expressly exclude roll-off containers transported by tilt-frame or hoist-type trucks. For confirmation about how the ordinance applies to a specific project, contact the Village Office at (269) 649-1919.
