Blue Sky Disposal - Frequently Asked Questions

1) If I cancel my order do I get the full refund back?
If you have purchased your dumpster via credit card and would like to cancel your order, Blue Sky Disposal reserves the right to charge 10% of your total cost and will refund the difference on your credit card.

2) How do I decide what size Dumpster to choose?
You can click on Dumpster Types and review the dimensions for each Dumpster. If you are not certain with the size, please call our customer service for further assistance.

3) What if I need to change the delivery date for my order?
You may change the date of the delivery at least 24 hours prior to the delivery. Please call customer service at 586-412-3762 to make changes to your order.

4) How far in advance do I need to order my Dumpster?
You have two options. You may call customer services and ask for the availability of Dumpsters for the same day or you can order online and you will be able to choose the available dates displayed on the calendar. Orders must be submitted one day in advance to allow for processing.

5) Who do I call if I need an emergency delivery of a Dumpster?
You may call the number displayed on the website. Emergency services are available based upon location. Extra charges will occur.

6) What if need an additional dumpster and have filled my first dumpster to the top?
We strongly suggest that you call customer services for assistance to help you choose the right size for your specific need. You will be charged for an additional dumpster.

7) What if I am not ready for the delivery of the Dumpster?
In order to reschedule or cancel your order, you must call at least 24 hours prior to the order delivery scheduled date. A trip charge will occur based on the location in addition to the cost of the dumpster.

8) What if I finish with my dumpster and need to have it picked up right away?
You must call customer services and ask to have the dumpster removed from the property. 24 hours notice is required.

9) Do I need to be there when Truck arrives with my Dumpster?
If you have specific placement instructions we suggest that you be at the location when driver arrives at your property. If you are not able to be present the driver will use his best judgment based on your instructions and place the dumpster in the safest area. If you aren’t present at the time of delivery and aren’t satisfied with the placement of the dumpster, you may call customer service and ask for the Dumpster to be relocated. Relocation fees will apply.

10) Do I get billed for overweight tonnage limits?

If your dumpster exceeds the allowed limit quoted in your order, additional charges will occur. You will also receive a copy of the weight ticket which comes from state approved and certified scale.

11) How many pounds or tons can I place in my Dumpster?
This would depend on the type of materials that you are disposing. Certain materials such as concrete, blocks, dirt can typically weigh a lot more than household debris or regular construction materials. Before ordering your dumpster, please contact customer services for information on overweight charges. If you order your dumpster online, please review the tonnage allowance displayed on the website for each size dumpster.

12) What are my payment options for purchasing my Dumpster?
Blue Sky Disposal accepts the following payment options: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Debit Cards, Money Order, Checks, Cash. Please have your credit card available when placing your order.

13) If I put a check in the mail, will I get my dumpster the same day?
Please allow 3- days for your check to clear the bank. We strongly suggest that you use your credit card in order to avoid any service delays.

14) What happens if Dumpster damages my property?
We are not responsible for any damages to any private pavement or accompanying subsurface of any route necessary to perform the services contained herein and shall not be responsible for overhead objects such as electrical wire, overhanging rooflines or leaves, trees, act. Rubber tire Dumpsters are available to keep driveway cleared from damage.

15) Can I get my Dumpster placed in the street?
You may call customer services for this information. Please check with your local municipality or city if permits are required in your area.

16) What type of materials are prohibited to be placed in the Dumpster?
Dumpsters will dispose of most not-hazardous materials such as construction debris, concrete, gravel, cement, siding, roofing, drywall, wood, household junk, appliances, and furniture, green waste, yard trimmings sod, rocks, mixed cardboard, paper, scrap metal, dirt. There are materials that we do not take and they include but are not limited to hazardous materials such as gasoline, oils, solvents, asbestos, chemicals, car batteries, tires, medical waste, microwaves, appliances fluorescent tubes, lead paint, animals, petroleum-contaminated soil, and all liquids.

17) Can I mix all types of materials in my Dumpster?
Yes you can mix construction debris and household materials; however we recommend that you don’t mix concrete with dirt and rocks to avoid extra charges.

18) Where will my Dumpster be Disposed?
All of our Dumpsters will be disposed in state approved and licensed disposal facility such as transfer stations, landfills and recycling facilities.
